In The News
The weather conditions during March were not to create much in the way of severe weather, except
at the beginning of the month on either the 4th or 5th, there were reports of a home damaged in
Croydon, perhaps by a tornado. There is a
thread on the forum with a scanned image of the newspaper article reporting the event, that
contains a photograph of the damaged house. Further enquiries currently in hand with respect to
this incident.
The 19th of March brought about a report of what could have been a tornado/funnel cloud in the
Dudley area.
Debate on the thread as to whether this is a hail shaft or a funnel cloud. See the footage and cast
your opinion.
Site Investigation
Members are reminded that that one of the prime functions of TORRO is to
acquire and research severe weather. This can only be achieved by the pro-active involvement
of its members in this worthwhile activity. It is only by getting out and seeing the damage and
recoding the detail in person that we can hope to gain a true understanding of what has occurred.
