COMMENTS
July has been the month where TORRO has received much recognition through the media, with exposure through newspapers and television.
On the 13th both Stuart Robinson and Mark Humpage were centre spread in the Sun newspaper talking about their storm chasing and with TORRO getting a mention too. After that came the television interviews for Stuart and Mark, who found themselves on both 'This Morning' on ITV1 and 'Richard and Judy' on Channel 4. If that wasn't enough they both found time to do interviews on the radio too.
The 28th saw one of the most significant severe weather events the UK has seen for some time. A tornado touched down in the Birmingham area, causing significant damage and injuring several. Fortunately there have been no fatalities, however many people have been displaced from their homes and the cleanup operation is ongoing. From photographs and footage from the event and subsequent scenes afterwards, the tornado at this time is estimated at a maximum T4, with site investigations being conducted by TORRO members Ian Brindley, Matt Capper and Peter Kirk. The investigation is ongoing at this time. This event received much attention from the media and TORRO members were again in the spotlight on both local and national scales. A further Tornado was reported at Moulton, a village in Lincolnshire near to Spalding, not far from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, where a further Tornado was reported earlier during the day.

In addition to this you may wish to add a personal photo within your personal settings; it helps others to get an idea of who they are talking to!
Also, please can members remember to post your whirlwind reports to http://www.torro.org.uk/reports/report.asp in addition to the 'Severe Weather Reports Forum'.
