DISCUSSIONS
A big thank-you to Sam, Stuart and Ray for involving themselves in what was to be an awkward site investigation. A conclusion has yet to be drawn as to whether there was more than one tornado involved. Opinions point to a combination of strong downdrafts and tornadic activity making the damage paths irregular and patchy.
The month brought in some excellent photo's to the forum. Reports are much more complete if we can add a picture to the data base along with other detail.
Well done to executive Paul Knightley with a successful tornado watch covering the Daventry event. Thoughts are now leaning toward adding brief Adv/watches to the TORRO web page for the public to observe. This will be an important step forward for TORRO , but remains experimental for now.
Thank you to TORRO executive Nigel Bolton for his continued commitment to posting reports over from the UK Met Office. These reports could easily otherwise never reach our attention.
The TORRO forum remains busy and growing fast with members. Just a reminder, that we have made as many categories as possible to cover every need. Please DO make your posts to the correct forum! This is essential if we are to pluck out important items for the database at the end of the month. This is made harder if they are mixed with other posts, which are not relevant to that discussion. Please also remember to put in day, date, time(BST) place INCLUDING county for all reports. Saying that, please do feel free to post ANY weather discussions to the General Weather forum for us all to participate with.
Any omissions or errors please post directly to me and NOT this thread. Thankyou!
Best Wishes
Tony Gilbert (Director and Site Investigation Co ordinator to TORRO)
