In The News
Wow! February has blown past; I didn't see much in the way of severe weather at all and I
think I may be suffering from a form of SAD. Any attempts to get my GP to send me somewhere far
away, on prescription, to see some weather to write home about seem to be failing.
Anyhow, one item to report is a possible fc at Nuneaton in Warwickshire on the 6th. Member Carl
Peake spots what appears on film (or, well, the digital image on the forum) to be a weak funnel.
The jury is still out on this one with the potential for the event to be a precipitation shaft
that has formed into a shape of a funnel. However, Tony Gilbert reported on the forum that there
was a steep lapse rate with convergence at the surface during the times mentioned so it is
possible!
Take a look and see what you think.
Site Investigation
Members are reminded that that one of the prime functions of TORRO is to
acquire and research severe weather. This can only be achieved by the pro-active involvement
of its members in this worthwhile activity. It is only by getting out and seeing the damage and
recoding the detail in person that we can hope to gain a true understanding of what has occurred.
